Overview
Modes
RTK uses modes to accomplish specific tasks. The four modes are:
Grade - compares shot values to an underlying surface to show remaining cut/fill or collect topographical data.
Stake - finds individual points (usually as part of a line) and displays info relative to the selected point.
Survey - this might as well be called new survey. It's very similar to Grade mode but avoids the alignment to the site. This is used when no file exists but the user needs to topo an area. The alignment is arbitrarily created but no benchmarks displayed.
Measure - used to document stockpiles most commonly. It's the one mode where we create volumes. While some of functionality is very similar to Grade mode with elements of Survey mode, the order of the data topo is critical for volumes.
Startup Flow
I'd like RTK and Smartdirt to be as close as possible in flow knowing that there will be necessary deviations.
Common
Login
Pick Job File (local or agtek access), (option add a New to the menu in Job File view)
Pick a mode (grade or stake if job is selected) (new survey or measure from Job File menu)
Grade & Stake
Pick Alignment method (Shoot or Recover). (do we use the time after picking the job file to quickly read benchmark and recover info while doing the calculations in the background? Seems like a good opportunity to do a lot of the calculation in the background while the user doesn't need much horsepower.

Unique Features
This is for items which are especially unique to RTK.
A floating semi-transparent shoot button on screen. Taking a shot is probably the single most common thing we do in RTK. On the PPC platform we have a dedicated button on the device. We lack that on Android. We may even want to make this moveable to 4 different positions on each edge. Posssible interface is hold and drag, similar to adding a shortcut to the android main screens.

Alignment

Choosing the Alignment type - After picking a file, the Alignment type window displays. Shoot benchmarks shows the file and prompts for shooting of the benchmarks. Recover is only available if recover data is available in the file. Menu options are available for:
Importing Recover - Displays a file dialog showing ADF files and .AGT files for selection. Supports AGTEK Access download as well. Upon file selection, the file is opened and the recover data and any nonmatching benchmarks are extracted. (Duplicates to benchmarks in the current file should not be imported, just their recover data.)
The program prompts the user to pick Benchmark 1, occupy the point and shoot. Only benchmarks are selectable in this mode. The Shoot button samples GPS points to the specified number (configured in Settings-GPS) and does the average of shots excluding those outside a standard deviation to establish the location of Benchmark 1.
At this point the program prompts the user to pick benchmark 2 and shows the assumed location of the GPS rover onscreen in relation to the job file. This is an assumed position because we have to assume rotation at this point and that the job file itself is oriented north. The distance at the screen bottom displays distance between the GPS rover (arrow) and the selected benchmark.
